The Ecuadorian tuna sector will end 2025 with 💵 𝐔𝐒𝐃 𝟐 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬, up from USD 1.7 billion in 2024, consolidating its role as a regional processing hub despite remaining under the European Union’s 🟨 𝐲𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝 since 2019 for deficiencies in combating IUU fishing.

📊 According to FAO, Ecuador ranks among the top five global exporters of aquatic products, making it crucial for global food security.

🎣 𝟔𝟗𝟏,𝟐𝟏𝟒 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, positioning Ecuador as the world’s second-largest producer and leading exporter of canned tuna.

🏭 Manta and Posorja plants export 350,000 tons of processed tuna each year — representing 70% of national exports.
